The future is shaped by the present. The present cannot ignore the past. Past is history, meant only for reference. A better future can happen if the present learns from the mistakes of the past.
गर अल्फ़ाज़ ही एहसास की ज़रूरत हैं
फिर दिल से निकले जज़्बातों का क्या मतलब
तू तो दोस्त हमेशा से दिल से है मेरा
जज़्बातों का एहसास गर हो तुझको तो फिर अल्फ़ाज़ों से इज़हार क्यों करना
हर दिन है दोस्ती का, कोई एक दिन ही क्यों तुझको में दोस्ती की मुबारकबाद दूँ
रिश्ता है दिल का, ऐ दोस्त, हर दिन ये दोस्ती मुबारक रहे
और हाँ
गर कल हो नहीं या कल मैं ना रहूँ
याद फिर भी मुझको रखना तू
दोस्ती उस वक्त तक ज़िंदा रहेगी
दोस्त जब तक है जान किसी एक में भी
सोचने की कुव्त फ़िलहाल शायद छुट्टी पर है
इतने सारे मसले मसाइल वैसे ही मेज़ पर हैं
उनको सुलझाऊँ कैसे ये बन जाएगी एक और सोच नयी
किस कोना-ए-मेज़ पर इसको रखूँ? ये भी एक इज़ाफ़ा-ए-सोच है
बेहतर तो ये होगा के मेज़ पर पड़े काग़ज़ों पर ही कुछ गौर-ए-ज़ेहन करूँ
शायद फिर कोई नयी सोच के लिये कुछ जगह बने
Blessed are those who find men worthy of speaking with
Friends are aplenty, but a friend in intellect is worth many a friend at tea
Such has become the joke, the election
To the highest body of this nation
Strange men now file their nomination
They who have never once had a real recognition
With claims of lofty positions, robbed or unscrupulously obtained
They have the fallacious view of representing men amongst whom they could never stand
And not to forget, the money that is to flow, in an election to the top where they seek to go
Spare a moment, with this in mind, to wonder of the capacity of these men, to put in the money that needs to flow
Stooges aplenty and historically, disruption their bane
They shall meet their destined fate of oblivion, that we are rest assured
Yet, one wonders of the audacity of such men
To contest an election
BEWARE OF THE STOOGES
BEWARE OF THE DISRUPTORS
VOTE NOT FOR CANDIDATES PROPELLED
GIVE THEM THE CONTEMPT THEY DESERVE
For all that a man does and does it well
And were such acts worthy of note and admiration
These shall find mention from amongst the men he performs and from others
A worthy recognition travels and travels well and fast
But if he proclaims his feat and declares it a success from atop a roof
What message were to be read into it, except that
Neither the act, nor the man, commanded merit
And that the man himself being sure of not being recognised
Blows his own trumpet
Times dictate the changing tendencies of humans and humanity

And the changes percolate on to the creations of humans
And on to the results of (in)humanity
As I lie down to sleep for the night
I realise that the day next is not a guarantee
He who sleeps with confidence of a day yonder
Fails to understand that life beyond the day lived
Is not a promise, but maybe one day more, until the appointed time
कल ग़म से मुलाक़ात हुई शाम के ढलते
पूछा उसने मुझसे एक अरसा हुआ एहसास किया नहीं तुमने मुझको ऐ जलील
मैंने भी कहा, ऐ ग़म
तू ही तो था जिसने मुझको बे-गमी की राह दिखाई
अब ख़ुशी से मुलाक़ात हो गयी है
ख़ुशी ख़ुशियों में तब्दील हो गयी है
गर तू लौट कर भी आना चाहे ऐ ग़म मेरी ज़िंदगी में
मेरी ख़ुशियाँ ही तुझको निपट जाएँगे
ऐ ग़म, अब ढूँढ कोई काम और बेहतर तू
या फिर ढूँढ कमज़ोर कोई और तू
ख़ुशियों ने मेरा हौसला बुलन्द किया हुआ है
अब डर लगता नहीं पेचीदा ज़िंदगी से
जी लूँगा जिस हाल में भी मुक़द्दर ने लिखा है मेरा मुस्तक़ाबिल
साथ है ख़ुशी का जीने के लिए
बाक़ी सब तो ला हासिल है
